One of the biggest concerns of Amazon Sellers is managing their FBA inventory. Since there are Amazon-fees associated with inventory storage, there is always a challenge of “supply and demand” that must be played every day to limit expenses of storage of slow-moving items, as well as the need to make sure there is product on the shelf for Amazon to distribute for you.
The Fulfillment Inventory API section of Amazon Marketplace Web Service (Amazon MWS) can help you stay up-to-date on the availability of your inventory in Amazon’s fulfillment network. The Fulfillment Inventory API section reports real-time availability information for your Fulfillment by Amazon inventory regardless of whether you are selling your inventory on Amazon’s retail web site or through other retail channels.
The following operations are included in the Fulfillment Inventory API section, and can be used to automate some of the tedious and time-consuming tasks:
Operation | Description |
ListInventorySupply | Returns information about the availability of a seller’s inventory. |
ListInventorySupplyByNextToken | Returns the next page of information about the availability of a seller’s inventory using the NextToken parameter. |
GetServiceStatus | Returns the operational status of the Fulfillment Inventory API section. |
When you sign up to sell on Amazon, you’re automatically enrolled in FBA for free. If you decide to go that route, you’ll send inventory to Amazon fulfillment centers, and Amazon handle shipping, customer service, refunds, and returns for those products. You can track your FBA inventory in Seller Central.
